I have the Dermestid Beetles for making the European Mounts. We are located in Licking County. My Fiance takes Great Pride in her work and produces a fantastic product. She already does work for 2 Taxidermists in our area. She is also one of the cheapest around: 60.00 for the bone white ~~ 125.00 for the camo dipped ~~Taxidermist discounts. hpim1634.jpg

Approximately 7 days for a clean skull...Depending on their appetite/Reproduction cycle. Boiling tends to loosen the teeth and fine membranes in the nose area. Skull too tend to come out with a touch of yellow from the grease. Although teeth can be tightened with glue.

That's a good price. I had a euro done last year with the dermestid beetles and IMO it's much better than boiling.

The place I got mine done outside of zanesville does it for $50. Bleaches the skull too. Dad's head is there now.

Are they actually using bleach? If so, Bleach leaves the bone a little chalky and dries it out over time. It also will loosen the teeth and nose bones but super glue will cure that......We use a method of Peroxide and Sunshine to get ours done. Some are degreasing them after bugs are done and spray painting them flat or satin white also. $50 is a Great Price for all that needs done and chemicals involved.

Thanks. Thats my makeshift "hunting" room on my coyote pelt..How many beetles do you have now? What do you feed them in the offseason?

She say's there must be about 5000 bugs in there right now.....We left the brains in my Boss's buck so there will be a population explosion soon (Brains must be Bug Viagra I guess) The larvae eat more than the adults......In the off season, we feed them a variety of things......any questionable meat from the freezer works good..... Cheap Hot Dogs.......She keeps several doe heads too .....And I swear I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NEIGHBORS CAT! Just joking.....She has a dog anyhow. Plus they will only eat dead meat.....LOL......
