He was either gored or he cracked his skull plate.. When they do that usually their ear gets droopy like that

The buck I shot yesterday was gored in the left eye. Probably why I was able to kill him......I was on his blindside. Oh well, handicapped deer taste just as good as normal ones!

Probably gored through the face and into the base of that ear. All it takes is some injured cartilage to make the ear sag like that. You see a lot of farm deer with droopy ears from being improperly ear-tagged.

Well that's one way of making him easier to kill, I wouldn't complain!

Poor thing, guess you're just gonna have to kill him now
