Anyone have any big radishes or turnips yet? I was down on my place saturday and I was surprised to see I had radish roots pushing 10" in length and the deer were digging them up all ready. I can only imagine once we get a hard frost.
My brassica/radish plot was pretty disappointing. Very little leaf tonnage in comparison to what they're capable of... and as of a couple weeks ago, my turnips were only about the size of a quarter or large marble. I didn't dig up any radishes to see how those turned out. Did you plant the Grounghog Radishes?
Yes I planted the ground hogs along with a mix of rape and berkant turnips. I put down a lot of fertilizer (19-19-19) so that probably helped my results. I believe in each strip (approx 8-10' wide by 50 yds long) I put down 100# of triple 19.

That makes sense. You put down a lot more fertilizer than I did. If I remember correctly, I only threw down 40 or 50# of urea on about a 1/4 acre. I also planted a couple weeks later than you did I believe.
