Boat blind has been completed finally. Bending conduit sucks....thats all I have to say about that! The blind started out as "remodel" and grew into completely new everything. Didn't like how the old one looked, so I darted from scratch. Here are the results......

That was the main reason I made a whole new frame. The previous one was very boxey, and it hung over the boat about a foot. Was very akward putting it up in the dark. This one will be a snap....only takes 30 seconds to go from travel to hunt ready. Just need to get a couple more pieces of camo net.

Was the old one an Avery blind? That's what we put on my buddy's boat, and everything you mentioned above seems to apply. We did brush it up good with various colors of rafia grass that we dyed so that helped.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get all the parts? Maybe you could post up a parts list, kinda like a "how to" project.

Are you planning to add some brush to the netting to help break it up even more?

Yes I am. I have a small saw and pruners in the boat to cut limbs and foliage where I hunt. That way i can blend in with everything around. Im taking the boat out this week to see how it blends in, that way i can figure out how much cover I need for it. My old blind i could only hunt 2 because of the design......this one I can hunt up to 4 comfortably. It should be a major improvement!

The old blind was a homemade job also. I bought it off a friend from work. I had to add 2 feet to it to fit my boat. It was grassed in with marsh grass, which didnt fit any surroundings we hunt, and it had a big section that folded over the middle of the boat. This kept me from hunting more than 2 people out of it.

Parts consist of 3/4" conduit, and 7/8" Bimini hardware. You have to ream out a little bit of material from the bimini hardware to fit the conduit, but it holds strong and offers a lot of opportunities for placement, etc. I will get a build post put together that shows each step.
