I spent Sunday afternoon hanging a couple new cams and moving my BEC's to some more secure areas. I wanted to hang a BEC near a well worn trail crossing the bottom at our farm. Two years ago, I caught Deuce crossing the bottom in this spot, so I've hung a stand and a camera at this spot hoping that this was a spot that another giant will use to crossing the bottom.

Anyways, I decided to do some scouting after I got the cam hung and headed up to the corn field that borders us to the N to check the moisture of the corn. When I got up there, I noticed a well work four-wheeler trail running between the corn and our line. I started following the trail until I came to a location where our fence had been cut and someone had helped themselves to our property. I did some more tracking until I found yet another cut in the fence with a well worn trail not 60 yards from my best stand out there. At that point, I was livid, so I called my dad on the phone to let him know I was going to start knocking on doors until I got some information.

I made a few stops to get some recon on who I thought was at fault without much success. Once I got to the place where I thought I would find the culprit, I realized I was off base. Turns out the neighbor I thought was at fault, had his camera, a stand, and a salt block of all things stolen this year. He told me that he knew who stole his stand and it was the same kid that ended up with Deuce. He also told me that he knew he was riding that trail. Son of a bitch!!!

This kid has been in juvy and thinks he is a regular Billy Badass. Last year at the fair when he was only 17, he got in my face because I sent my cousin to school armed with a few pictures to out him as a liar since he was telling everyone he killed Deuce with his bow. If he had been 18, I'd have kicked his ass right then and there. Now that he is 18 and I know he is stealing from people and tresspassing, he's about to find out how much of a badass he really thinks he is. I fixed the fence, added "POSTED" signs, and placed tack strips down in the areas they are riding. I plan on being out there as much as I can until I catch them in the act. I basically started a neighborhood watch on Sunday and this little bastard and his buddies are destine for a date with one pissed off Redneck!!!

Sounds like that kid is a piece of work right there. If I was to catch him out there. I would grab him off that quad and flip the quad over and beat the shiat out of him before I call the Sheriff. I would just tell the Sheriff the kid wrecked his quad when you yelled across the woods to get him to stop so you could confront him about trespassing on your property :D.

By your FB post I knew there was a good story there :D. Good luck catching the little prick and I hope he doesn't get to any of your stands or cams before you catch him.

It never fails to have this type of shit happen right before the season starts.

As if it isn't tough enough to kill a nice deer without putting up with this. More times than not there is always someone screwing things up.....take the law into your own hands.

I'm heading out tonight to do some surveillance (and squirrel hunting). I'm going to gather some evidence and file a formal complaint with the Sheriff tomorrow. I have a contact at the department and I told him to expect me tomorrow. I'll have a shovel handle with me in case I have to roll him off that quad. Trust me fellas, I'm not the kind of person to fuck with when it comes to this stuff. Whoever it may be that is doing this, is in for a world of hurt when I catch them. I have no problem with sticking a 12 gauge in their back and marching them back to the house to wait on the Sheriff. That's no kidnapping is it?!? :D

I had a minor incident recently. I own a vacant 7 acre wooded lot about 7 miles from my house. I've spent the past 5 years clearing a 1,400 foot driveway, laying down gravel, clearing out a yard for my future home, and installation of a 1/3 acre pond. I have about $ 80K in my project so far.
This past Spring I get my pond stocked with fish. I began a feeding program for my fish in which I stop by the pond in the morning on my way to work and another stop on my way home after work. One afternoon I'm rolling down the driveway and I see this 20 year old kid (that looks like Jesse) fishing in my pond. I get out of my car and say "I never recall meeting you and giving you permission to fish in my pond, what the @!$#$#$ are you doing?" A thought came into my head at this time......"Pick his ass up by his throat and one hand him into the pond." I almost did it and part of me wish I would have.

How would you realistically hand the event?

For me, that is not as huge a concern as what I am I dealing with now. But then again, I don't hold a pond and fish in the same regard as I do a nice oak flat and whitetails. (Matter of perspective I guess.) I would have probably started things off like you did with a "WTF". Once I had his attention, I would have made it very clear he was to get his shit and get to stepping. And if I caught him again, the law would be escorting him off the property.

It only worsens matters in this case that I already dislike this kid. That just fuels a fire that would have already been bad enough to deal with. And finding it this close to season and that close to my stand, it all compounds my anger...

I would ask him what the hell he thought he was doing, tell him to lerave, and let him know this would be his only warning. I would not be too much of a prick the fiirst time around. The second time I would call the law and prosecute.

If you get too pricky right off the bat the fucker could come back in the middle of the night and dump a couple of gallons of oil in the pond. I think your first contact with the guy should be civil, after that game on.

If the land is posted they have had their warning. I have serious issues with trespassing on my properties. I have given more business to the quad tire retailers than the AMA ATV races... Especially at our Coshocton County properties. If I see them I make sure they KNOW I mean business.

Last year I followed a guy back to his house after he tore up all of our creek banks. When he stopped in front of his garage I got off my quad, handed him one of my signed no trespass signs that he passed both ways and tilted my head. He gave me a WTH look and smiled. I smiled back and flattened one of his tires. Figured I would hear from the Sheriff but didn't. This guy was 40 years old...daddy should have taught him better.

Since I outweight the guy about 2-1 I'm sure he was shit'n in his britches. I felt like throwing a WWE move on him by grabbing him by the throat with one hand, jacking him a foot off the ground, and tossing him into the pond. I should have stomped his tackle box into a million pieces and snapped his fishing pole into 4 pieces while he was dragging his ass out of my 2-1 sloped pond. I wish I would have but I was afraid of the repurcutions of the law. I didn't need an assult case against me. I calmed down and engaged in some chit chat. Found out the real story of who he was and where he lived. I was Mr. Nice Guy. I gave him a warning and sent him on his merry way. If I catch him again it's WWE time; 270# with attitude versus 130#. You can read about me in the police blotter. Over the past 15 years I've fallen victim to 6-7 tree stand thefts from tresspassers on various properties. Can you imagine how much vented anger I have? I'm ready to explode. The next guy is all mine. I may even consider some torture methods. I'll tie him to a tree, drop his drawers, ignite a stick, and burn his asshole and balls with the hot embers of a burning stick. That will teach you! By the way, all my properties are highly marked with no trespassing signs. I'm ready to RUMBLE.
