Started this thread just to see what pops up in the banner above the thread text.


Lot's of folks don't like ads but I've found them interesting and often useful, sometimes clicking and buying. If not buying, just sometimes going down the rabbithole and learning something related.

2nd time looking at it, same ads came up.
I'm wondering if it displays based on what's in the thread title, or if discussion in the thread could key it to display something else.
Like if you started talking about taking a cruise ship to Australia to go on a guided tour to see kangaroo and wallaby or to buy soccer equipment.

I've clicked in here like 4 times now, each time with the motor oil in the banner.
Let's see if talking about Bisquick baking makes any difference.

BTW, and please correct me if I am wrong Joe, but when you to buy something from Amazon by following the ads above (only seen on PC version) we get a small kickback. Those ads keep the lights on around here, but do so without being annoying. Necessary evil when it costs +/- $1K/year to keep this place running.

That's one way to do it I suppose! Or you can click on any ad and make a purchase. I believe all that needs to happen preceding an Amazon purchase for us to get credit is that you end of on Amazon by clicking on the ad banner. Joe can confirm that.

BTW, I see recent purchases and searches on Amazon in my header. 2 gifts from Christmas, a fire extinguisher which I ordered yesterday and a tactical pen which I researched last week.
