Now that my Kansas hunting buddy is laid up for another 10 weeks with half a body cast on his newly surgically repaired leg.. He won't be able to make the September hunt.. So that means going it alone :smiley_badmood:

I hate hunting alone, especially out of state. Not only is there a safety factor,, It just sucks and it's not like i'm the perfect picture of health myself rotflmao

It would definitely be one of those hunts where I wouldn't shoot anything less than a booner (or very close to it) since it would be a lot of work for one guy so it would have to be worth the effort of getting a land owner involved in helping me get it out.
However you want to look at it... it just sucks :smiley_asswhip:

Hunting alone definitely sucks.... As I get older I find myself doing it more and more each year.. Really takes the wind out of your sails as there is no one there to share stories with or success with... Wishing you a safe and successful hunt...

I enjoy some "me time" from time to time. I'd enjoy going out of state and being alone. Maybe not every time, but every once in a while would be great. I think you're looking at it all wrong. Truck isn't even packed and you already think it sucks. Go enjoy yourself and keep your buddy in the loop the entire time/virtually take him. Quit kicking stones and enjoy it! Pick that chin up buttercup.

X2, I'd go to Kansas by myself right now.

Have bow will travel. And I've been known to keep a campfire well entertained.

True. . . Or an airport terminal in Gulfport MS, or Nashville parking lots, or wherever Joe ends up. People don't find entertainment in him, they must be deaf and blind.

I wouldn't go alone. I can't even imagine a hunting trip taken all by myself. Talk about boring. The camaraderie is what makes these thing so enjoyable. Find someone to go with you, or save your money (unless you had to draw a tag).

Always fun to hunt with others but if ya are able to get help dragging one out go for it.
Plus a solo hunt would be nice to have some time to clear the mind and just enjoy the hunt.
Life is too short to miss out on opportunities.
Good luck! Hope ya put a big one on the ground.

I own a house out there that I use as our base camp for hunting. We lease 2000 acres exclusive to us. Started back in 2007. There's 2 of us that bow hunt September and 3 of us that bow hunt November and then 2 that Hunt Gun. 5 of us total.
I'll definitely go it alone, especially after missing the November hunt last year. I'll do the September hunt alone and he'll be ready for the November hunt. But it does suck being out there alone... makes the evenings at the house boring as hell.. makes it hard to get up for a morning hunt when you don't have anyone depending on you or pushing you.
I'm headed out Aug 10th-14th to check trail cams and fill feeders,, set a couple new stands.. At least one of the gun guys is going with me to do that.
