This is one of my favorite times of the year to spend my money local. All the fresh fruits make the bakery a weekend must! Just smashed a raspberry donut and a blueberry fritter.

Hard to beat a vegetable stand TOO! I'll be getting me some sweet corn at some point, I heard it's starting that season.

Levi had a friend stay the night last night and they picked a watermelon before getting in the truck.

Anyone buying fruits or vegetables from Walmart this time of year needs punched in the face!

I'm right there with you Giles. My favorite way to spend local as well. We have a handful of great produce farms nearby that make it pretty easy.

Yep, just hate the drivers that it seems too attract.... Lots of clueless people behind the wheel gravitate towards farmers market.... At least around these parts...

You should roll down to the produce auction, Giles. You can support the local menonites. And honestly, who wouldn't buy a pickup truck full of cabbage when you can get it for 1.25?

Got a local Mennonite family farm. This time of year they always have a little shack full of fresh vegetables. The best part is they run it on the honor system. Never once met any of them. Stop in take what I want and I'm happy to spend more on their veggies because it's fresh and wholesome, and because of how they operate the shack.

We had our first corn of the season last night with some grilled goodness. $2 a dozen! Probably gonna end up going back today to get some more. Maybe I'll take Brock's advice and head out 41...

Yupper, we hit the local stands for mostly sweet corn but I'll occasionally grab some peaches or other items we don't grow ourselves.

Hell's yes, Benches is right across the river from my folks. We try and do half a truck load at the end of their season and bag it. Best tasting sweet corn I've ever had.

With all the talk of how we spend money lately, just wanted to bump this. I’m about to head out the door and do my grocery shopping with the Amish...not sure if it’s any better, but....gotta eat.
