My goal between now and deer season is to catch a Musky. Someone PLEASE tell me everything I need to know. I'll be hitting Leesville every chance I get.
I've got the rod & reel set up, I've got some big Blue Fox Spinners, Big double jointed Jitter bug , Lee Sisson crank baits, so i'm somewhat geared up.
Do I use a leader? If so, what size & type?

Not much help targeting musky but we catch them quite a bit bass fishing... That should clue you in on structure lol

You catch them on tube baits?

No, can't ever remember one on a tube bait.... Spinner and buzzbaits though....
Every once in a while crank baits....

They will destroy a spinner and buzz bait lol....

Definitely need to use a leader and if throwing any spinner/buzz bait use a trailer hook....

Ok.. check that off the list.. lol
We had 3 that were every bit of 40"+ follow the bait to the boat and not eat.. one was every bit 50"+... Lost a good one and landed this one

Congrats. Looks like you found what works! What worked?
Honestly, ditch the Muskie baits and troll with smaller baits. I always did great with Mann's 1- for upper suspended fish and Mag Warts for deep water. Speed troll 3-5 mph.
