Tilled up the ground for the raised bed garden. Went down and got some dirt from cow shit ridge in the pasture.

Its ready for the enhancements and block walls coming on Monday.

Finished up preparations on the raised bed yesterday.

Block brick
Natural dirt tilled the other day
Old cow poop about 5-10 years old
45 cubic feet of peat
26 40# bags of topsoil
30 bags of miracle grow garden soil that Lowe's had stupid cheap a couple of weeks ago

Going to let the cucumbers and squash climb the fence. Also going to use it to hold a few tomatoes and cage a few others.

Planted all the frost hardy crops yesterday along with a couple samples of less hardy crops.

My theory is this. Normally they say not till mother's day which is the traditional last frost date for Ohio. However they also say the same thing for morels and we already have yellows which indicate the end of the season.

I Have extras in case my samples die off.

We got ours tilled up a couple weeks ago.
It is small enough (8'x20') that I put down landscaping fabric every year to help with the weeds. I also think it may help heat the soil a bit.

Tilled and ready.....

And we got around to planting it today.
The wife and my daughter Reese helped out and we got it done in just a couple hours.

All done. A pic off our deck of the finished product. Put a little bit of everything in this year.
