Two sick kids napping....they'll be alright if I go for a quick walk out back...right? Lol, tempting, but I'm not gonna leave them.

I went for a real quick walk. Hit the spot that they seem to grow every year. Nothing yet in that spot. Didn't have enough time to look anywhere else. I'd rather them not pop with snow in the forecast.

It's been spot on for the past decade or for as long as I can remember. That I always get way TOO excited when the weather starts to break in finding morels.... The dandy lions, florcythia and dogwoods all are good indications that the time is near, but the mayapple has never let me down.
When the mayapple leaves get the size of a 8-10 inch pie pan, the morels WILL BE up! So, until then I will just keep dreaming:)

There have probably been 20 people tell me just today they have found a "handful ". Tells me there are some but not enough for me to work at it. The incoming nice weather will change that I'd guess.

My sister claims to have found one brown one. Her friend claims to have found 3 (But the pic was grey sponge) Not sure I believe either.
