Got an email today about some Ohio leases... One was 15 acres for $850.00.... That's over $50 an acre... If I had it to spare I wouldn't give it to them...

That is ridiculous Rich but if it's a great spot I'd fork it out! I mean there's landscapers, yard maintenance guys swapping pay for hunting permissions here around the Cincy suburbs and hunting absolute world class deer every year on acerage that small. Indian Hills is loaded with huge bucks running amongst these multimillion dollar estates.

Same happens around the other large cities within the state as well. You don't need a ton of land just the right land.

You do have to watch these fly by night lease outfits though. There are some real scammers out there leasing 100 acres of field and shit!

Ric... This guy had several leases in Ohio... Licking, Muskigum,Athens.... Even had one in Brown County Illinois where I hunt... Some of the Ohio leases were pretty big for $30 an acre... I know about having the right piece of small acreage... We have a 17 acre piece in Illinois that a guy from Pa. hunts... I cant drag him out of there... He comes back with more stories than you could imagine every night... I guess come April I have to take a road trip to Ohio and knock on some doors if I want to hunt out there this year... I ran some ads in Farm and Dairy but got no answer... So I'll start In Athens County and head North towards Stark...

Ah... Stark County... Yes I saved the best for last... They say that Stark County is known for its Big Bucks but beware the Sasquatch that roams the woods with a hammer in one pocket and a white whale in the other... Sounds pretty scary... So might just end up in Columbiana for a beer or two....

This, I seen guys pay 1k for 25 acres outside Charlotte, by the time you factor in driving time, gas $, etc. I would definitely consider it

See what I mean giles. It's happening regardless of how people feel about it. Nothings going to stop it so might as well turn some dollars on it.

So I figured let me inquire about this piece to see exactly where it is and check out an aerial photo.
Maybe as Ric stated its that perfect piece. Well it was already leased...

No reason to add injury to insult. Some people are getting rich selling heroin right now, doesn't mean I should jump on the wagon. Is it because I think hard drugs are wrong, probably.

Look, I've got nothing against the land owner making some money. I've got problems with the middle man, that dudes a fucking dick and only does it for the money. He doesn't give a damn about the current or future hunters, only the mighty dollar. That's the problem IMO. See what I mean Joe?

Charlotte was the perfect recipe for expensive leases, no decent state land, sparse private property with booming urban expansion and deep southern hunting tradition. Toledo is probably most like Charlotte if we are comparing Ohio Cities, Cleveland is fairly close to some decent state land (Woodbury) and various lease opportunities within 2 hours away, Charlotte suburban resident are traveling 3 for 4 hours for decent hunting.
