I love sitting here watching these vehicles. I really miss watching with Dad and damn near every vehicle that rolled through he would have stories about how many he beat the hell out of back in the day. Im a sucker for the all originals, but they are so rare any more. Everything is a restoration to the freaking hilt nowadays. If I had the cash, my dream car is a 1964 Ford Galaxie XL 500. One of our neighbors flips a car every few years with a local salvage guy, and they take it out the Scottsdale. not sure if they are out there this year or not

You aren't alone Ryan. I am watching it as I type. I like the Nomad and Nova wagons. Not sure why. They are just cool. Probably because they are a bit unconventional for a "hot rod" but they sure do clean up in restorations quite well.

We picked up the 1962 Nova last summer and it has been fun. It is an older restoration. Likely 20-30yrs ago. Thus the reason it was in our price range. Mom and Dad have a 1974 VW Beetle. Original. It would be difficult to find one much more original. Under 20,000 miles. Still have original tires and rims. I can list on one hand what has been replaced on it. This is out of necessity rather than to hot rod it. Brake parts, battery tray, voltage regulator, battery, and front seats were recovered. Pretty sure that is all. I see them restored to original condition and they are asking $6-12k. Customized I have seen them from a couple grand to tens of thousands.

Guess I am saying, I like them in all flavors, HP ranges, shapes and sizes. 67-69 Camaro would have to be my "all time" favorite. Truthfully not sure I would want one though. There are so many out there and they bring so much, I think it would be one of the last I would buy. I'd like something a bit different, but I sure do like them. I drool when I see one that was restored nicely.

67-72 were good years for many of them. Those are probably my favorites. Mustangs, Camaros, Chevelles, Novas, GTO, Chevy trucks. . . .Serious muscle car years in my eyes.

Even the Broncos and Suburban in this time frame are cool.

I agree Hicks, 67-72 were some of the best years for muscle cars. I've had many over the years. Enjoyed them all. Just put new brakes, shocks, springs, and control arms on the front of my 69 Chevelle yesterday. Its coming along nice.
Barrett Jackson is fun to watch. If I ever win the lotto ill be there buying something.

GNX would be my second pic over a yenko of any kind. Third would be a 72' elco painted like the general lee sitting on 44's. I'm also a really big fan of the old 3 door burbs. But when it comes down to it, I'd love to have anything from that era. Even and old vega or pinto would be cool to have.

Yenko anything. No doubt. El Camino rocks the house. But I agree with you. I have seen some Maverick and Dusters dolled up pretty sharp. Or the Tempest. Same platforms as other muscle cars and you can do about anything to them.

The V-6 of the 80's though...that was a solid platform for the potential of boosted power. I think the GNX changed the racing world from cubic inches and nitro to, how much boost can it hold.

The 70 Monte Carlo was my first car, soft spot for it.... Lol....

Fair enough. I get it. Even if not a "hot rod/muscle car" in my eyes, they are sharp. Worst part about them outside of the fuel mileage had to be waxing them. There is a lot of real estate to wax. Those things had their own area codes. lmao
