Berlin Lake Hunting Rules / Advice needed

Hey guys new member here. I am hoping someone has experience hunting at Berlin Lake/Deer Creek. Can you park anywhere? on side of roads? or just in the parking lots?

Can you hunt in any wooded, grassland, marsh area on the Ohio Wildlife map?

Any spots known for squirrels?

Any other advice/tips greatly appreciated. Monday will be my first time at Berlin and public land in general

Are you talking about Berlin in mahoning county? Deer Creek in portage county?


Never squirrel hunted Berlin but rabbit and deer hunted it years ago... Check out the leffingwell road area on the south side as well as Berlin station road, west of Route 534....

Hey sorry guys - I haven't been online all week. Below is link to map of Berlin Lake / Deer Creek Reservoir in Portage County. I did go out and hunt there. I saw a few squirrels between 9-11AM. Got 1 of them!

I went to parking past the archery range (parking P-6) - if anyone knows of other good spots around this area - any help would be great!

edit: I think parts of the lake may also be in Stark and Mahoning Counties
