I've had two different people tell me that Ohio will have a measure on the ballot this spring to possibly make Ohio a draw only state for non resident hunters. Neither of these guys had any details, And I know there not bull shitting me.
Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I've heard about it but couldn't get the article to work. It will be an uphill fight for them Ohio makes way to much money on non residents. I would like to see it I have buddies that come hunt from tennesse and they say they wouldn't mind it either I could see alot of people not applying because they are not that serious from what I heard is it be like Kansas so many tags per county.

Anything is possible but that's a stupid way to go about it because the non hunting public can vote on it. Odds are they would vote it down thinking they're saving animals from death.

How much could the state make on just the draw fees that would be charged? Plus I would imagine license fees would go up as well.... If they played their cards right they wouldn't lose anything and possibly make more....
That would also put heat on the fly by night outfitters who'd have to come up with tags or people who drew them...

I don't know why they'd be so quiet about it. I can't find any info on any of it besides the crap shared on FB...

Or they could act like they're trying to do something to appease hunters and have it go down in flames and act like "oh well we tried"....

I've heard nothing of this during my recent conversations with people who should know. A price increase for NR fees is coming, but the draw is most likely a rumor.

And rumors like this will flood the market for anyone that ever even thought about coming to Ohio to hunt. So this is a good rumor for the ODNR to keep their mouth shuts on as long as possible.

I have rule watch alerts set up for all state laws related to wildlife. If it's true I'll know as soon as it hits the legislative floor for consideration.

I hope its a rumor. And I don't know how it would work for NR who own property in Ohio. I would have no problem with a NR fee increase. I just hope the increase is for the base license only. If they raise the tags to much our doe heard will get out of control fast.
