What....in....the....fuck?

Going over it with my wife now and our old plan is no longer going to be available.

What are you guys paying for coverage? Looks like we will have a mortgage payment into insurance now. Rediculous. Maddening. Gamble.i say gamble because we can choose a plan with a premium less than $1,000 a month but then our exposure on total out of pocket is outrageous.

These systems are not small business friendly...pretty much forcing the "little guys" out of business. Looking like one of you two are gonna have to get a job with benefits...

You mean you "couldnt keep your insurance like promised"? Hate to hear it man, LOTS of plans dropped out of the cafeteria Obamacare BS.

Our plan is ridiculous. I may drop it completely. There is no good reason for these increases. None. The only reason they have gone up is because it is now mandated to have it. I could charge a heck of a lot for pizza if the government told the citizens they had to buy pizza!

It is more than a bit crazy. The old plan we had was expensize. Should have kept my wife's income off the table and used the ACA. I can't imagine what it would be if we showed making more.

I'm amazed how many small business owners I know around town here that are going that route... Seriously, I was talking to a couple the other day about this crap at the shop. They are riding around in a 70k dollar pick up truck (she has a Lexus SUV thing), and telling me they are contacting whomever it is they need to get on the government insurance. They have a better accountant than I do. They are not the only ones I know that are going that route. I gotta believe that's an expense OBUMMER didn't see coming in his crystal ball. For what it's worth, I don't blame them a bit! What has happened to our rates is absolutely insane.

We only have until the 15th to figure out what we are doing, and honestly I don't have a clue.

Same here. Obamacare isn't just for the poor but they get it cheaper. My wife and I will claim a lower, middle class income (doing tax prelims right now also). It is cheaper than anything else (for now because it will go up, substantially) but the out of pocket is insane. Just got to gamble that nothing bug happens or it can set you back a few years.

Seriously, anyone making more than $70k (net if self-employed) as a family, the premiums are like $1,300 a month with 12k or more out of pocket.

I, at this point, have zero motivation to make more taxable income.

Time to coast and implement the Wilson Plan.

I have Axis Insurance Company and pay $440.00 a month but am going to drop them today or tomorrow. What sound like a good plan is not, they have not paid any of my claims to the doctor for my knee, my wife's foot and they SUCK!!! I am lucky that when I start my new job on the 12th of this month I am covered starting on day one. What I have paid over the course of 4 months would have cover the doctor visits. Freaking Pri*ks!!!!!

As being in small business now about 2 years ago when Obamacare came out we got a letter from our insurance provider they will be dropping our company.
As a result we provided our employees a nice raise and told them to go shopping for health insurance. I believe their health care expense is now tax deductible. On average for a family of 4 they are paying about $1000 per month or $ 12k per year. That seems to be the average for average health care. Small businesses can't afford to absorb health care costs.

I am so glad I sold my business...I really feel for you guys. I'm not sure what I would've done if I still had my place. Probably scaled back to zero employees and closed doors a couple days a week. What a shitty place to be in...sorry folks.

Is there a special program for immigrants and small businesses? Not trying to start another argument here, just asking. It seems they seem to be able to function just fine when others are struggling.
