What do you do for gun season? They do several drives on properties around me, but I am not involved and not on my property. I have 109 ac, I am planning on getting close to property they will be driving on.

What are thoughts, ideas, suggestions.

I'd be visible from whatever direction they come in from. I'd hate for an accident to happen. So maintaining visual contact would be highest on my list.

Good deal. I'd try and catch the deer on escape routes. If you don't know how the deer escape yet, get positioned where you can see a long ways. Deer drives can be very effective. I'm a big fan of hunting overlooking depressions, creek/river bottoms. You can often spot deer trying to sneak around hunters. Those deer know the game.

This cannot be stressed enough. Knowing the terrain, the placement of the standers on the other property and the way the drivers are "pushing" the deer is invaluable.

If you were to do a drive on your property what are the locations of the escape routes that the deer would use to get onto those neighboring properties. If you can get to the thickest of those locations undetected and early that would be where I would sit. You also want to be well hidden as the deer will be on some level between alert and moving to get-the-hell-outta dodge sprinting as they escape the drivers. This will play into your location, shot selection and time to decide for shooting.

I have a big creek bottom that is about 75 feet down in both sides, I plan on covering it, unfortunately I am not sure how they are driving, it is almost 400 ac property, so I will be set up close to it and waiting

I basically bow hunt but with a gun. We do have a few places that we just drive a few times a week. Last year I got away from sticking to a spot and bounced around I'm not doing that this year good luck everyone and be safe

I will be driving around looking for trespassers. I'll likely hunt at some point. I'm ready to throw in the towel. My attitude really sucks right now. Carrying a gun and getting lucky is my tactic. That is a pretty horrible tactic in my eyes. I have failed as a hunter. Hoping to get lucky is not hunting to me. This is not the place I wanted to be right now. BUT. . . I am thankful for what I do have. I do have a couple nice properties. I do have a tag. I have my health. I have my son to get on a deer if he chooses to do any hunting. I could be just fine if we don't tag another deer in regards to our freezer. Life isn't all bad. Just my outlook so i am done typing.
