Only if my son wants to. Currently he is on the fence. Frustrating for me but I won't force him. He has to want it.

I'm in the same boat with Levi. He has the want and shows interest, by asking what I saw when I get home and he talks about it. But and its a big but, his laziness always wins out. I'm not gonna argue with him to practice, I always invite him to shoot his bow with me and he just never makes it there.
Last week he went and shot his gun in preparation for this weekend, he still needs another night of practice to be ready. We will see if it happens.

All 3 of my kids have the spark right now. One is a bit young yet, but the other two are ready. I have to take the ML out to the farm and resite it in for lower grain powder. Should be fun, I've got a couple of small bucks coming into the corn pile and multiple does. I already talked to the neighbors...so we shouldn't get interrupted.

Sounds familiar. Don't you want to hunt this year? "Yeah." Then we need to practice. I need to know you will make the shot if you get an opportunity. "I know but not right now." You can't tell me at 7pm when it is dark that you want to hunt in the morning. "Okay. Maybe next weekend." Arrggh. I realize not every kid is like Mason. I realize I can't force him or he will NOT want to go. I can only throw it out there on occasion. His ears perked up a little when I told him it was youth gun this weekend. He said "This weekend?" Yep. You know guns are the great equalizer. Those deer that were just a bit out of bow range. . . Dead if you have a gun. "I know" is all he said with little to no enthusiasm. Oh well. More stand time for me, but I'd LOVE to have him by my side.

My 2 daughter's interest has waned a bit this year. They have still gone a fair amount, but have passed up hunting several times when they could have. My son's interest is still strong. All 3 kids are involved in a lot of school stuff and I know that it is part of it. Like you guys said, you can't force it, so I will be ready when they are ready to go.

My kids seem to be what has been keeping me going this year... I hope that never goes away. The place I take them, the shot is 11-12 yards. We practice at 50 yards. I have more faith in them, then myself right now.

We will be out somewhere this weekend. Guns are fun. I have no idea where we will go or when.

I agree 100%! I just checked two cams that have soaked for a week. All night pics, until early yesterday morning, and again this morning. By this weekend, with the front and moon times shifting, I gotta believe it is going to get wild in the wilderness.

Headed to Ross County with my young brother-in-law and some of his buddies from school. I usually go down and take out any young hunter that needs someone to set with them. My profile picture is from the youth hunt on that farm from last year. I enjoy going down and helping out with the youth hunt as much or more than going out hunting myself. I'm glad to see there is still interest form younger hunters. Weather looks decent for now. Maybe some showers on Saturday morning with cool temps and possible snow on Sunday morning. Looks like 9 or 10 hunters will be there this year. Hoping one of them gets a wall hanger!!

I'm not liking the wind direction or speed forecasted... This could get tricky for us, I've never hunted outside of a blind with any of them.
