Upgrading my wood burner this summer and the old one has to go. I've been heating primarily with this stove for the last 15 years. the fire box is approximately 18"wide x 22" high x 24" deep. I've crammed 28" pieces of wood it. as stated it is custom made, no marking on it at all. $200. if anyone is seriously interested, I can post some pictures

I'd be interested in looking at some pics. We have a propane fired set up now and I've been wanting to put a wood burner in its place....

If this can be stuck inside my fireplace, I'd be interested if Giles isn't.

Neat design. Simple yet sophisticated. I like it.

I'm curious, how thick is the metal and how many square feet do you heat with it Jamie?

this stove was here when I bought the house, and yes it is quite simple. friends who know welding have told me that it is very well made. we heat 2200 sq. feet. stove is in the lower level, so it keeps us pretty warm with strategic use of a couple of box fans and the furnace fan when it's really cold. some parts of it are 3/16", some are 1/4". very hard to measure the thickness of the firebox with no exposed edges. it's surely one or the other. clearly, this is meant to be used as a free standing stove. whether or not it could be used in a fireplace is above my pay grade to say.

Giles, the new stove will likely not get here for a few weeks. this project is probably going to get done before Labor day.

cheapest heat on the planet if you can cut wood yourself. you ought to be able to sell that. with all the money you can save, you can take her to West Palm Beach in January. unless we're squirrel hunting, I mean. :smiley_bril:
