Passing Time While Waiting For October

Summer is always my least favorite time of year. But, the last couple have been bearable finally. I've been interested in photography since about the 8th grade in school. I started taking pictures with a Kodak Instamatic back then. I tried the Polaroid One Step for a while when the instant picture craze was in high gear. Finally I graduated to a SLR film camera, a Pentax Program Plus with a 50mm and a later added 300mm lens. I honed my skills with this camera for about 15 years. Then the cost of film and processing got very expensive due to the Hunt brothers scheme to drive silver prices to all time highs. I gave up photography as a hobby for quite a while. Digital cameras came about, but prices were astronomical at first. Finally about 18 months ago I decided I wanted to get back in to photography. I found a good deal on a Pentax K200D with an 18-55mm and a 50-200mm lens on eBay. I did a Buy It Now for $205. A few days later I had my hands on my first Digital SLR. I knew the fundamentals from my Program Plus and the switch to digital was simple. Eighteen months later I now have two Pentax digital DSLR's and six lenses. Finally summer is fun again. Here is a sample of how I've been spending most of my mornings and evenings.
