So they come back all happy because they captured some stupid dragon or something. From age 10-50... We are fucked America!

There's already been people falling off 75 foot cliffs, going to the police station because apparently there was a Pokemon there and getting arrested because he had a warrant, and 2 dead bodies have been found by these clowns.

I can see the negatives and positives of this game. At least the nerds are out in the sun light. I have seen a lot of families in our neighborhood who are never outside or spend time with there kids out catching pokemon as a family. From my understanding pokemon or whatever spawn around monuments and historic places. Maybe while they are there hunting critters a few of them will read about them and gain some knowledge. When I was in college I used to do geo cacheing with my friends. This is similar but instead of swapping out gear in a canister you are catching pokemon. On the other hand people are irresponsible and play around military and police stations ect.

Yeah, it's crazy. I live close to a bike trail and last night there was like 30 kids walking around staring at their phones. Apparently the town here is a Pokemon 'hotspot' or something. I'm surprised no one has been killed playing it yet.

What the hell ever happened to the good ole days. Tag, kickball, hide and seek, hikes, family gatherings......I feel sorry for society and the kids growing up. Give me Mayberry Days with good ole Barney and Andy over this crap. Just saying.............

You ain't alone Jeff.

I will also add that my inner crazy is on high alert with this one too. I think this has been a big push by the government to track people. My other inner crazy is hoping that ISIS (or anyone else) uses this against us.

My wife went to the graveyard to see her mother last night and there were some jack asses playing it there. If I was there I would have lost my shit.

I hear what you guys are saying. Hard to believe how much the world has changed since I was a kid. I haven't seen my son chasing fn pokemon around yet but he is addicted to these damn video games. If I don't drag him out with me to do something he would never get out. Seems him and his friends are good with playing xbox live together. wtf. :smiley_confused_vra

I can promise you one thing, this shit won't go on under my roof. I don't have the slighted clue WTF this whole Pokemon thing is about and I'm damn proud of that. I don't see my daughter growing up to be in to something like this, but if so, it'll be against my rules anyways. Do something productive, not something retarded.

I could create a Pokemon to be at my storefront. Or even in my store. This would essentially bring potential customers through my door.

Yet on the flip side of the coin, there are people being lured out to secluded places and being robbed too.

My Grandson play's different games....In moderation. They are great to pass time in a deer blind. Hour here and hour there is OK. When I say lets go..... We go! Got to find things they will get into. I am lucky I guess. Braydon loves the outdoors (maybe because I take him there) and he loves to build things or work on things with tools. Many Parents seem to fall into it because it occupies the kids for awhile...... then they just don't understand how it all happened???????

I have the same problem at my place but I think I have it about nipped at this point. My older two are off and working all the time, so they are good. My youngest friggin LOVES fishing, going to the farm & horsing around on the ATV, so I'm working to keep that fire alive.

My theory with these games is that they cause the same kind of chemical release in the brain as running and playing (or even catching a fish). If they can get the same effect - instantly - from sitting on a couch staring at an artificial world versus sitting at a real lake for hours waiting for a real bite, they're gonna be more inclined to choose the couch.

Best I've been able to do is limit their time on electronics and force them to do other things.

It is a different world, no doubt. I was pondering what would drive people to chase something like a Pokémon to be entertained. As I sat their pondering how crazy it seemed to me I had another thought. What would a Pokémon chaser think if he walked up on me doing what I was doing at that moment. I was sitting on a five gallon bucket with my camera tripod half submerged in the marsh taking photographs of dragonflies. I'm sure the Pokémon chaser would have thought, "What is that idiot doing, he needs to get a life". See it has always been and always will be different strokes for different folks.
