Does anyone have experience with downloading maps from computer to GPS? I found a website called gpsfiledepot.com with free maps.
It's a Garmin, fuckers want around $100 for the topo maps that include Missouri. I'm not spending that when we are only going to be out there for 4 days.If it's a Garmen, good luck. I'm pretty sure they have it locked up like Apple products.
I'm just guessing I won't have any service in the Ozarks.Just use your phone.
Didn't even think of that lolYou can download apps that will let you cache maps to use offline. Your GPS will still work without service.
Do you know the names of the apps offhand? You can download apps that will let you cache maps to use offline. Your GPS will still work without service.
Check out Backcountry Navigator. They have a free and paid version with topos.Gez, you want me to do your homework for you too? LMAO
I know you can cache maps with Google maps, but I'm sure there are better options out there.
Lol. I ordered topo maps for the GPS yesterday. You'd think the guy going with him would have told him about his phone. LOL
