Did you ever take your niece on a date? I'm thinking it's about time for me to take my daughter on another one. It made me think about you saying you should do it with your niece. I know you e been busy though.

Making babies does not count. His work has long been done.

I am laying the ground work for this right now. I take my daughter on "dates" once a month and we spend a good bit of time 1-on-1 as is due to my wife's schedule and my flexibility with working from home. The biggest reason I've made so many positive changes in my life is so I can be the best version of me possible for her sake. I want her growing up with a dad that sets the bar high when it comes to choosing a mate. And if the goes the other direction, it'll be a long life for both of them! lmao

Lol, I made comment some time back about how I think it's my responsibility also to help SHOW my daughter how a man should act and he liked it.

My daughter was telling me that her "boyfriend" (she's only 11 and has been with this boy for a couple years now) got her a gift and he invited us over to give it to her. He's a nice little fella with great manors. I scare the shit out of him and his parents love it. Hahaha. My daughter doesn't like it so much, "you are embarrassing dad".

I started trying to spend more 1 on 1 time with her. Simple things like pick her up for ice cream, take her shopping with me when I'm picking out gifts for Jessica. Things like that. She's been in Florida with her grandparents since the beginning of summer though. They're good Christian people.

It all matters buddy. Even if it's just a phone call. Gotta let these girls know they are special...

We didn't make it to Maddy's "boyfriends" house this evening. Just didn't work out. She's not upset at all about it either, lol,

Lol, thanks Chad. I think it's cool that my daughter actually talks to me. I know it won't be long and she'll hate me. All teenage girls hate their parents...she'll come back around or she will know where to find good advice if needed. Been building this relationship since she was born.

No problem brother. I need to start doing this with my step daughter. She's never known her real dad so I think she has sort of a fear of father figures so to speak. She did tell me that she would go deer hunting with me as a father's day gift though so I'm super pumped about that!!!!

Sounds like you have a good way to start then Chad. Make it count! When I take kids hunting and fishing I make sure it's all about them. Seeing or catching things is always a bonus, never a dull moment though. We laugh in the blind, I let them play with the calls...whatever it takes to keep them interested and having fun.

She's not going to be toting a bow or anything, she just wants to come along I guess, and that's fine with me! I've been asking her off and on the past couple years about going with me, so I'll find a good spot to brush in the blind and put it where we'll see deer. I just hope she likes it and wants to go again. Just don't know what part of the year I want to take her, I would think probably early season would be best, who knows, she dont mind the cold either.

Joe, the last couple of days I've been trying to be thankful for the good things I have in my life. The people down south have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope all your friends and family are safe. This goes for anyone else also.

I've got a friend that I haven't been able to get in contact with and I know it's been weighing in on my mind. I'm also aware that I'm not the only one. I wish I could afford to do more than just pray for them folks...

I felt the same for southern WV since I have strong ties down there. I donated 4 bags of common goodies from Dollar General to the relief effort. I'll never miss the $40 and it goes a long way for the folks in need. Every little but helps.

That's a damn good idea. I'll look into who might being doing something like that in my area. Thanks
