I'm not sure if these things just happen to happen together, but I'm shitting bricks right now and thought I'd share.

Yesterday my wife got a call from her best friend that one of her twins was on his way to the hospital because he was having seizures. They kept him for a couple of hours and sad it was caused by a high fever that they couldn't explain...called it a viral bug.

This evening I got a call from my best friend saying that his kid was on a helicopter ride to the children's hospital for the same thing!

My kid got sent home from school yesterday for a high fever...he went to the doc today and they also called it a viral bug. I'm scared to go to bed...a lot running through my mind. I wanted to share this for many reasons. Keep your eyes on your kids!

My buddies kid ain't doing so good last I heard. Keep them in your prayers please. Both kids are also right around 18 months old.

Damn, that'll put the fear of god into ya.... One of the most helpless situations there is, kids sick and not much you can do....

When a grown ass man calls you in blubbers...it gets your attention. My little dude is a bit older, he's 6, but he's in bed with mom right now. Not taking any chances here.

Thanks guys

When I was a baby I had seizures from fevers. They're called febrile seizures. I guess I scared the crap out of my parents, they thought I died after one of them. One of my nieces had them too. If that's what's happening it is much harder on the parents than the babies. Prayers that this turns out to be the case with your friends.

We had put both our kids in cold water baths when they were toddlers due to high fevers... Both our kids would spike high temps when they were both sick and cutting teeth of all things...

Hope all gets better Dave! My daughter is down with a 102° temp right now, she'll probably miss the rest of the school year minus her awards ceremony on Friday morning.

My boy had real bad nightmares all night, but is holding steady.

Just got word from my buddy that his boy just woke up. First time he's done that since his first episode 14 hours ago. They have him on some pretty heavy meds and sedated him after that.

Hope things turn out well for all of you Dave. Hate it when they're so little they can't tell you they feel like crap though. Prayers out to them!! Now that you mention it my son (11 yrs) last week woke up with a good fever, momma kept him home that day. Battled it off and on with Motrin and Tylenol til it broke in the late afternoon. No real reason for it and has been fine since.
