Took this guy Tuesday morning. I called his hens off the roost and he followed them right to me. While the hens mingled in my decoys, he decided to skirt them. I guesstimated he was around 40 yards and since I was leaving today took the shot. Well as it turned out he was 50 yards so I guess my shot gun performs way better than I thought.

20lbs, 10.5 inch beard, and 1 inch spurs.

I'm back in PA now. Our season opens on the 30th.

Congrats! Subtle mistakes often lead to better knowledge of equipment. I have never "intentionally" shot at a bird over 45 yards but have killed many over 50 yards. Love the inwoods pick of just the turkey, I have some exactly like that.
