Just got in the box, rain finally stopped, 53 degrees, wind from South 10-12. Deer in the fields everywhere during ride back to box.

I'm back at the house as I can't safely cross my creek due to high level. It should be OK this afternoon.
Good luck to all who gets out.

I've taken shots with it 3 times this year. When I take it back home, I get it on target and it seems to hold groups for 5 shots. Take it out hunting and it hits WAY left.

I just got back to the hunting spot. Fired it @60 yards and didn't hit the large pizza box. Pissed the hell off, I grabbed my ML and left. Almost here and thought "hey stupid ass, why didn't you shoot this?"! I was just shooting it a week or so ago, but my faith is real low right now.

(Missed a nice doe @60 yards this morning, broadside...not moving...looking the other way...out in the open...)

Old Tasco. It's been on this gun about 15 years now. I'm pretty sure I've fired it more times this year than the last 10 combined.

I saw one small buck early. Working now. Going through a thicket after lunch, sneaking through it with the trusty old 1100.

Two does the last hour munching grass, one is the sickly one. I got a bunch of zoomed pics of her today, looks like a gut shot deer from bow before gun, 3 blade broad head. 32 turkeys just hit the field. Very little shooting today

Older scopes just give up after a time just like peoples bodies.
Spend good money on a rather expensive scope one time and never have a problem. I'm still using a rangefinder Redfield scope that I bought new in 1968. I just bought another Redfield scope from the same time period without the rangefinder scale in it.
Had a old Weaver 4 power scope on my Ruger Deerslayer auto rifle in 44 mag for 25 yrs. Hadn't shot it in 10-12 yrs and last year I went in my gun room and the damn thing was bad. Go figure. The rifle now as a compact Leupold on it now.
Have friend who shoots PD's with me out west and he would build up a custom $1000 AR and put a $39 Tasco scope on it and always wondered why he couldn't see anything past 300 yds.

The drive was a success, we got the huge eight point that had been bedding in the overgrown pasture up on its feet but it only had one side. Went to cut the rack of the other dead eight point and both sides popped off when I pulled really hard so now I've got some fresh sheds :). It was so gnarly the velvet was still stuck around the bases

Good job. Surprised the antlers are popping off already. Must be the wet weather.
