Decoy setup

I got permission to hunt a corn field beside land that always holds geese. There is a treeline separating the two fields. How would you guys set up your decoys and would you lay in the field or stand in the trees? Also I saw them flying out of the fields around 4:45 today, what time in the afternoon would you guys get to the field to set up. Thanks for the advice.
