Squirrels are in trouble

I've mentioned before that Mason is a bit nutty about air guns. He has a room full of them, likely one reason he is such a good shooter. Anyway, we've taken advantage of today's nice weather and have been goofing around with his Marauder today. We have it dialed in to 100 yds. He has a camera mount for the scope, but we haven't really figured out how to get it just right yet. Here is a clip, I just happened to be shooting, and it is tough to do with the mount and camera in the way. However, it is pretty neat. The egg is at about 40 yards or so...

Do you need/want another kid? Man you seem to have all the thing so want to do with my kids. I just can't afford it with 3 of them! Looks like fun man, tree rats are in trouble. I got more than a few here at my place if you guys want to come kill a bunch.

Thanks for the offer, Giles. We have a corn pile in our woods. Mason set up a ground blind and camera over it. We've actually had some deer and bunnies on it, but the purpose of the thing was to shoot squirrels. I'm sure he'll run out of ambition to shoot before we run out of squirrels. He went out there for a little bit earlier today, but only stayed long enough to miss a bird of some sort. We need to figure out this scope cam deal as it makes it really difficult to aim and hold steady.

Nice man! I picked up a .25 maurader too. He get synthetic or wood? uploadfromtaptalk1449982708598.jpg This a 2 or 3 shot group of mine at 30 yards off a bench. What pellet is he gonna use to hunt with?

His has a wood stock. If I had it to do over, he would have the .22. They use 1/2 the air that the .25 does, and I can't imagine there would be much difference in killing power. He shoots the super diablo pellets, I think. KR just ordered him more, but no sooner did she place that order did he decide he wants to try some of the hollow point variety. He knows a lot more about air guns than I ever did due to YouTube. He's a big fan of "Teds Holdover", and honestly, there is a lot of good information to be had there.
Nice shooting, btw. These guns are crazy accurate!

Missed this post the other day. Had to look up what the Marauder looked like to see what you were talking about. Pretty cool is all I can say and to get 100 yards?!?! Holy crap! I keep kicking around the idea of doing some squirrel hunting Christmas weekend if we don't make it down to Ohio. Been wanting to make a big crock pot of squirrel soup.

I'm in the same boat as you Brock.

I bought my boy (7) his first BB gun for Xmas,,,a Daisy Powerline 901 (800 fps). Should be a good enough entry gun and one certainly powerful enough to make me provide him excellent supervision over.

I've got a feeder 100 yards behind our house. At one time last year I got 17 squirrels in one trail cam photo.

After Xmas squirrels beware.

Windy as heck here, but I'm heading out to the corn pile. If I can shoot one with the camera mounted, I'm gonna. I've been fooling around with the wood burner out in the shop and am in bad need of fresh air. Mason killed one yesterday at 70 yards. A couple more will make a meal.

Dang. I should leave it up to Mason. I put the camera on the scope and recorded myself gut shooting one. Dang camera makes it tough to shoot/see accurately. He crawled into a hollow tree.
