Yes they work. My older brother and I was shooting those 50 years ago. But there wasn't any deer to speak of in NW Ohio around Lima so never used them.

Just may want to avoid using cut shells in a full choke barrel. Wax shells would be ok though.

Wax shells are devastating as well but a little more work involved lol... Have used the wax shells and was very impressed with how well they work with a very low tech method....

I know beagle hunters who in the late 60's always carried cut shells during bunny season. yes they did work as good as slugs at 25 yards. I also remember guys using "double ot" during the 1970s in Columbiana County.

Buncha poaching rednecks I went to HS with used them regularly on deer while squirrel hunting. Blows a nasty hole...
