The wife has been going through our records looking for old family pictures. She found the receipt for our 1964 wedding reception meal. We had 500 quest and the total meal price was 325.00. Today the cost is 20-25 per person.
She also found the hospital bill for our daughters 1966 birth. The wife and child spent 7 days in the hospital. Total hospital bill was 184.00. But I'm sure the Doctor got 20-30 delivery charge on top of that. Today I'm told the hospital stay is 3 days and get the hell out.

Yes the prices was cheaper but that 184.00 was 2.5 weeks of take home pay. I started in the Finance business as a Mgr. Trainee in 1969 at 425.00 per month and was glad to get it.

In the 1960's gas and smokes were 25 cent each. Pop and candy bars were 5 cents each.

I'll stay with today's high prices and income as I can do just about anything I want.
