My buddies dad died a few years back. He left my buddy this old truck. He wants to sell it but we cant figure out what its worth. Ya its worth more to the right person. But we don't know what to ask for it.
The truck is a 1976, It has 124 original miles on it. its all factory original except the battery and radio. It has a 305 engine and 350 trans. It is like new. What you guys think its worth?

Have you tried google? Lol. Nice truck. Less than 200 miles is pretty crazy. That thing is sharp.

It's a non-desirable but the mileage is attractive.
My guess $ 15-20K as is.
If I were to sell I'd authenticate it and then to Ebay for auction.
Let the highest bid settle it out.

15k to 20k seems pretty far fetched to me. It's a 76 they didn't cost that new. It is very clean and nice, but it's 2WD and just a run of the mill truck. IMHO you will be lucky to see 5k to 10k.

Hard to tell from those angles, is it a short bed?
Do they have the original radio?
Do they have the original wheels?
For the hot rod people (which is where the real money is) the 2wd part is good as long as it's a short bed. Original window sticker and things like that would be a high selling point also. Along with any manuals or anything else. Personally, I think I'd send it to every car show around and wait till someone offers a number they liked.

I ran a business built on dickering for a few years…what it's worth isn't important.

How can you sell your old mans truck he left you? Is he in a bind? Hopefully sell it so someone that promises to let him buy it back later.

Shortbed 2wd? Miles accurate? Shoot me a PM. I'm interested. I don't see $15-20k. I see $4-6k. Maybe a bit more to the right guy.

I couldn't sell it either but I don't know the guy's reason for selling. I got nothing from my parents except a junk Stevens single shot that I had to buy from my brother. We had it re-done and the grandsons have it now to pass on.

If this truck has 124 miles on it, it'll fetch more just because of that.... Although imho the 350 is a far better motor than the 305 especially in those years as they had issues with cams back then as they weren't hardened properly and they'd wear out within 75K.... Brother had one I believe his was a 78 or 79 GM would pay for the parts but not the labor.... Total BS on their part.... But still this truck is in new condition from the looks of the pictures....

I looked on ebay but couldn't find anything real similar. I'd guess around $9,000-$11,000 but could be way off. Interested to see what you get it appraised at or what he sells it for.

I think, 1976' was the first year for the 305 power plant. Some crazy amount of hp…like 130-140 hp! Painted them blue back then also and the 350 orange.

It's a nice truck and in good shape but I don't see it fetching a lot of money. If someone would want it to build a hot rod out of it they won't want to spend a lot of money for it, especially if they are going to put a bunch into it. It would be a great foundation to start one on though.

Not TOO toss Philbert under the bus...but if it has 124 miles on it; document it and toss it on Ebay with a $12K reserve and watch it take off from there. Once rumor spreads in the truck world it should take off like wild fire. Good luck.
