So my wife dropped me off where I've had permission to hunt shrooms for over 20 years and she went to Bunkers (bar) like she has for years cause she loves drinking (but eatin mushrooms is her favorite) then I meet her there when I'm done lol, to drink beer.. I was gonna walk the 2 miles and meet her there. I didn't make 40 yards and I stepped on a snake and it bit my boot hard, I'm not scared of snakes so I played with the fella, I have never saw a snake that made it's neck swell like a cobra and make a lot of noise he was pissed.. Figured out it was a hog nosed (head) snake

Oh and by the way the lovely metro parks own all of this land now even though the owner died (I didn't know) and the family got screwed. I shouldn't have been there but (I give shrooms to a bunch of old guys that live on that road) the park rangers can kiss my ass :pickle:, they put little white signs in front of all the tree stands on my property and I got pics of them on the trail cam. I can't say what my wife does for a living but they will never step on my property again. I think I told Mike

Yes I'm drunk, I don't care here is the snake lol.. and I still hate the metro park guys

I read this and it makes no sense but it's the most typing I've done in years so I'm not deleting it ;)

Fugg that shit! I don't mind snakes when I know they are there, but hate surprises. I had my boot hit by a snake last summer down in rattlesnake county in WV. Ran over a monster black snake on a four-wheeler once and it flipped it up on to my lap. I threw it left, I follows right and the quad stayed straight. Fugg snakes!

I was never scared of snakes until I moved to AK for 10 years. They don't have any up that way... When I moved back to ohio, I found out that every time I see one of those bastards, I come out of my skin for a brief moment. Lol

LMAO this was a GREAT post!! I hate snakes for the most part, just the startling part anyways. Up here in Mich. we don't have many other than garter snakes and a few other mostly non-poisonous ones. I can see myself being careless down there in Ohio though with all the rock, caves and perfect habitat for them to hang out. Think I would definitely crap my pants and you'll find me in a corner sucking my thumb if I ever had one strike at me or especially hit my freakin boot!!

Went to my Pemberville, Woodville spots and found a nice sack full this mornin. I hope we get some rain around here.

This snake made a lot of noise for a little fella and I've never run into one before. I liked the way it hooded it's neck and looked right at me lol

Uh, were you drinking before you seen it? I'd have to have quite a few shots of whiskey in me to ever like seeing a snake! hahahahahaha

I was thinking about catching a black snake in the woods once and it coiled and stood up like a cobra and hissed at me. It worked and I left his mean ass alone.

Did it look like this?! I walked up on this guy while mushroom hunting last spring. No zoom...I was texting my wife at the time so I snapped a pic.

This thread made me remember a episode eons ago when I had to go to summer school. On the last day of school, one of the other guys brought his python to class. He had it wrapped around his waist underneath his shirt the whole time. Damn thing never moved.
