Anyone else have encounters with mushroom hunters tresspassing, while turkey hunting? I have had a 2 encounters, both on private property and the mushroom hunter literally did not think they did anything wrong. Anyone share similar experiences?

Trail cams aren't just for looken at deer.

Document. Press charges and make an example of them and word will get out. Otherwise, learn to live with it.

I had a old neighbor and his son I caught. They didn't see the harm in trespassing for just mushrooms. I politely told him to ask permission next time. He never did. He's has since moved away. Good riddance.

I had got some picture of a couple guys last year during mushroom season. I printed some pictures, wrote a nice little note on it, and then posted it at the local grocery store, diner, and gas station. It took all of about 4 hours and I was getting phone calls… I haven't had a problem since.

I forget exactly what it said. But it was something along the lines of a missing poster. "Missing mushrooms, last seen with these guys" "Any information would be greatly appreciated" I didn't care enough to want to press charges or anything, but I don't like people walking around on my property without me knowing.

Bowhunter, I think #1 for me is kids. I live close enough to other houses that the kids like to come back following the creek. I really don't mind that at all. I'd rather have them back here playing in the woods and creek than out causing trouble. I've never even approached them about it and I can usually hear them from the house when they are back there goofing off.

Glad to here some land owners don't mind young'ens playing in their woods, some of my best memories growing up were spent in the woods (still not sure who owned it) building forts and etc. Kids need to be outside and not playing video games.

I was the same way! I wouldn't want to scare them off just by talking to them, so I just let it happen. I'd like to think that the woods I ran in were the same way. They had to know we were there. Bikes in the ditch and kids are loud, lol.
