New here and had someone tell me about this place. I lurked around for about 5 minutes and decided THIS is where I need to be. You guys have an entire post about one guys success! Thats awesome… You also have an annual hunt in Strouds Run! I've hunted a property that basically borders Strouds and have for the last 21 years.

Some of you might recognize my name from another site…

Thanks! I hope to share some of my stories in due time.

I grew up in NW Ohio (Genoa) and then spent some time in the military which took me around the world. I called Alaska home for about 10 years and moved back to Ohio 2 years ago. I've got plenty of stories as I hunted and fished most places I visited. Some are believable, some I don't tell because…well, they are simply not really believable.

Been too Mountain home but that's first I've heard it called that lmao.... But hey it's the modern day military lol.... Did you retire or just get burned out and walk away? Lots of the latter these days....

Here's a pic of the deer I got this year. My biggest to date. Highland county
28303

Last years Athens County
28304
Last year was the first time I ever buck hunted. Before that I was a brown is down hunter. I realize now that killing them all isn't a real good idea, lol. I'm fortunate enough to have a couple properties with a very healthy deer population.

Thanks. Its actually 2 bucks from the last two years. The first pic, that buck is 21' inside and no pictures do it any justice. The second pic, isn't really all that impressive, but you couldn't take a bad picture of it. Every pic the thing looks twice the actual size.

And that is why I travel 400+ miles, play hooky from work, and sit in freezing weather because bucks that size aren't impressive in Ohio. LOL Man alive, where I am, that is considered a giant buck. Anyway, congrats!

That Athens buck (the second pic) came from about 250-300 yards off Strouds land.
