The buck I was hunting that I posted pics of in my trail can thread hit the dirt last night unfortunately it wasn't to my arrow. It is however a kid I know who works his butt off for big deer. We all said around 175. He scored it at 181 and some change. The hunt for him is over at least I know what happened to him.

That sucks you didn't get him. But at least he was killed by a well deserved hunter. Its better than hunting a ghost. I'd love to hear the story.
 
Oh my Lord what a buck! Like the others, at least you know and aren't hunting a ghost the rest of the season.
 
Just took a look a your trail cam pics. He definitely didnt lose any mass from sheding the velvet. Sucks that you couldnt take him, but it sounds like a good kid did. Was he shot on the same property you hunt or a neighboring property, just curious?
 
What a buck!! Glad to hear that it at least went to a well deserving hunter. Still sucks it wasn't you, but it's nice to know that it was someone who puts the time in and truly appreciates it!
