We are headed to the game on Saturday and I'm looking for a good place to eat. We've been to Thurmans and I love it, but I'd like something a little more upscale as this is essentially our anniversary dinner. I love J Alexander's, but I'm not sure I want to drive that far out of the way to eat there. Suggestions in the South/East Columbus area, Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Canal and Pickerington areas work best for getting back home in a timely manner.

Thanks!

Doesn't HAVE to be upscale. But I have a Benjamin in my pocket from my parents to use for our dinner, so I was hoping to eat somewhere we might not eat if I was paying! lmao

These are all mostly downtown but here's a decent list of places I was looking at for valentines day this year. My boss and out marketer recommended these to me, they're townies and like good "cuisine". I went to Basi and it was awesome, expensive like $120 for 2 meals and a bottle of wine but pretty cool

Basi Italia - http://basi-italia.com/

Sycamore Café – no reservations, one hour call ahead. http://thesycamoregv.com

Westies – http://westiesgastropub.com

Rigsby’s - http://rigsbyskitchen.com

Rossi - http://rossibarandkitchen.com

Wolf Lodge – http://www.wolfsridgebrewing.com

also.....

Third and Hollywood - http://www.thirdandhollywood.com/index2.php#/home/

Lindseys - http://www.lindeys.com/

Tonys Italian - http://www.tonysitalian.net/

Barcelona Columbus - http://www.barcelonacolumbus.com/

Melting Pot in easton is pretty sweet too. A really cool experience if you've never done "fondu"

How about McDonalds and spend the difference on some quality hunting supplies? Just saying as that would be my wife's thoughts.

Champps in Easton is nice. I hate to call it a sports bar because you think of a BW3s and the only thing it has in common with BWs is the 96" TVs. Very extensive menu and very big portions. Average tab for two is around $50.00 w/tip.

If you want to eat downtown it's very hard to beat Buca di Beppos. Absolute best Italian food I have ever eaten in Columbus. Family style Italian cuisine. Big portions and authentic Italian food. Average tab is $50.00-60.00 per couple.

The Refectory. country French cuisine. very common to have rabbit, venison and even more exotic game meats on the menu. reservation and proper attire required, I think. finest place I've eaten in central Ohio, and I've lived here all of my life. besides that, Sage Bistro (on N. High St a mile or so north of campus) is a more casual atmosphere, but has a phenomenal upscale menu and the best Martinis I've ever paid money for. very cool place to go. went there for our anniversary a couple of years ago.

Lots of good options listed.

Eddie George's will be busy, but it's a great place.

Highly suggest the Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill in Grandview. Full, but always been able to get a table during the games: http://www.buckeyegrill.com/ Lots of cool stuff on the walls and a great patio.

Barely's Smokehouse is also another great place.
