Anyone have a spread like this for their tractor?

Do they work well for small seeds?
Do they work well for lime?
Any cons?

thanks!

I started to use one this year. It works great with fertilizer and oats. Great coverage and mine will broadcast 70 ft. wide. Fertilizer and oats is the only thing I used it for.
I haven't tried it with small seed. If you can set the opening small enough it should work. If I was going to use it for small seed I think I would get some sand and try that first.

I would think it'll work with lime as I think that's how they spread lime. My soil test shows I need no lime.

I would recommend that with anything you plan to spread to set the feed rate at 50% and spread it twice. I learnt by a mistake last year and ran out of fertilizer and spread it too thick in the beginning.

IMHO. Good luck as it's the best investment I've made in farm tools outside of my 3 pt. rototiller.

Dad has a PTO powerrd spreader
His the opening to the spinner will not close far enough for small seed
So he mixs the seed with play sand
That way a fair amount of sand and some seed make the right lb per acer

Hope that helps
