The king of all ducks! They're a type of diver duck, just something we don't get too many of around here. But there are divers on just about every pond along Rt 71 right now.

I was shocked Sunday when I drove around our local state lake which rarely holds normal birds (geese, mallards, woodies) let alone divers and other varieties. I saw a dozen ringnecks, 5 common mergansers, and 5 coots. I've never seen divers on that lake before. Then last night I drove by a small farm pond about a mile from our farm and saw 6 ringnecks on that pond. I love seeing variety like that! Such a rare treat around here.

I've talked to him at shows a few times over the years, and I really want to get out to hunt with him one of these years.

There have been thousands of geese landing in the corn stubble fields around my place the last few days....I assume they are migrating back north and just stopping to rest?

Every flooded corn field and pond is loaded with geese and ducks around Coshocton right now. All kinds of oddballs everywhere.
