I havn't been out deer hunting in a few days
But this afternoon was feeling like a good day to be out
Snowing with some wind , but not to bad
So I hunted in the woods behind my house
I tryed a stand inside the woods ...sort of a staging area ( out of the wind)
I saw 3 doe's and a buck that had shed it's rack head into the corn field around 4 PM
About 5 I saw a Yote working the main tractor lane
It was 50 or so yds out and slowly coming closer
I let it pass me hoping for one of the 2 decent bucks to show
But when it was amost to my 40 yd marker tree , I figured WTF SHOOT IT!!
I put the dot just at the top of it's back and pulled the trigger of my Horton Hunter crossbow
The Rage 3 blade head entered just behind the last rib and exited just in front of the off shoulder
The female Yote went 15 or so feet and was down for good
I skined her out , nasty exit hole
I am sure it will hurt the price of the hide some
But she will not reproduce this year for sure
As I exited the woods after sunset
I could just make out that the deer were still feeding in the corn field
But it was late and I had a Yote to skin
