CLICK , the sound you hate to here

Last night my GF called
She was able to get off work today , so she wanted to come deer hunting with me this morning

As I have been hunting for a 10 point buck this fall
And only seeing it well out of range
I said sure , be here a little before 6AM , we will hunt the ground blind along the creek

After a 5 mile drive and 300 yd walk , we cranked up my propane heater in the blind and relaxed

OK just before daylight , the fog rolled in
28 degrees , it froze on everything and blocked my veiw of the corn feild next to the blind

About 8 she pokes me and points to a nice doe walking down the other side of the creek
All of 40 yds away
I nodded yes , as no deer could be seen in the feild for the fog

She sticks her H&R Ultra sluggun out the window
Cocks it and ....CLICK
She had never put a slug in it this morning

She had a great deer club in her hands :smiley_blackeye:

As a nice guy , I passed her my LOADED Remington 11/87 sluggun

The doe heard the click , but had no clue what it was and was looking around

Well the doe was now 50 or so yds away , but 1 Lightfield slug put it down

She tagged & feild dressed it
We hunted till almost 3:30
When I couldn't take the headacke any more and I had to leave

4 more deer came past us , but not the big 10 point I am gunning for
Well at least not that we could see for the fog that stuck around till after 9:30 in the feild
And she was tagged out in that county

Even better , I drove around the farm and backed up to within 30 yds of the doe
I love a easy drag after a deer hunt

Now I get to harrass her for not loading her shotgun this morning
