I've been looking to buy a new climber. Have always used summits u like the comfort for all day sits. The specialist is nice but 250 lb rating is a lil close for comfort for me. I seen this stand and it intrigues me on weight and back packing.
www.x-stand.com I walk 1.5-2 miles back in on public land. Has any body used them before.

I was thinking JD has one. Maybe try him via PM. If not, try the search feature. I believe these were mentioned last year. You might get feedback or other users with experience with these to PM with questions.

Last year I bought a used loggy bayou climber. All I can say is WOW what a great stand! The only beef I have is that it doesn't do well on small trees otherwise it's light, easy to set up/climb with, and super comfortable. It's a shame loggy bayou went out of business though

I hear the summit viper is ridiculously comfy however I wouldn't be able to deal with having that shooting rail there in front of me I like an open front.

But I also hunt public from time to time and I actually switched from a climber(used one for the past 12years) to a hang on with LW climbing sticks. I can get bout 25 ft up with my 5 LW sticks and LW stand totaling to 26lbs. You could look into millenium stands, if you want something more comfortable.

With a hang on I can hunt the spot not for a tree ;)

Thanks all. I live 35 mins from where the x-stand is built. Went today and tried one out at the owner engineers place. this stand is solid on the tree. Climbs really nice to. Pics and videos don't do this stand justice. Can't wait to see what it is like on a sit. Carrying on long hikes are going to be a dream.
