A woman that works for me brought this in today. She found it cleaning out her mom's house. After looking around I found out that it's a Murata Type 13 Japanese single shot rifle from around 1880. It shoots 11mm black powder cartridges. There is no safety or ejector on this gun.
Missing: Bolt cover screw, bolt stop, cleaning rod and bayonet. The bore is nasty. Overall it looks like it's seen better days.
These are worth good money in good shape with all of the parts. I'm going to offer her $150 just because it would be cool to own.

Sounds okay for the cool factor/conversation piece. Only complaint I have is you need to put some socks on those ugly toes before your next picture. lmao

I'm a sucker for weird guns to. But I do avoid gun value books for value and use them only for reference not the price. The only prices I go by are selling prices on the large auction websites like Gunbroker and the like.
IMHO.
