Fall mushroom? Help with identification

This is the second year in a row I have found these. This is the early stages of the cluster, within a couple days they grow into a huge mass. I am torn between the jack-o-lantern (which is poisonous), the hen of the woods, and chanterelle. They are everywhere this year but the deer will have them gone before I can get back to them. Any help identifying???

This is what they look like after they "bloom" this is the same area I found them this year and the deer will wait until they are at this stage to eat them. It just peaked my interest seeing how the deer go crazy over them. This is a picture I got in a sequence of them growing on the stump.
