Brassica Plots

Here are a few pics of my brassica plots I planted on 7/28

The mix:
Purple Top Turnips 2.5#
Dwarf Essex Rape 2.5#
GroundHog Forage radish 5#

with 100# 46-0-0 and 50# 6-24-24 on each acre

I was shocked at the size of the radish in my plot last year. The groundhog variety are something else! Good looking plots Corey!!!

Jesse, before you pulled that GHR, how big was the top green leafy part? Trying to gauge how big/ how good they are doing without digging one up

That was after a few frosts, so they had wilted a bit but were easily 10-12" in places. It was hard to tell there was much else in the plot because of how big the radish tops were. Unfortunately though, the deer didn't eat them. I planted them again this year in hopes they would take to them. Time will tell...
 
Looking good!! Those are perfect for those late season hunting. Our plot last year didn't have much of any activity until well into January so that was our reasoning for not going with it this year. If we made the trip back down then it would have been worth it.
