Skeeters and Ticks ....Way to many

Earlyer I took a friends son out
As he will be joining us this fall

I showed him 2 great spots for treestands
I showed him , because he lives not 300 yards from the first one
And the second one is a PITA for me to get to

Well the deep dark WET NW Ohio Black Swamp woods was alive today
With the humm of millions of Skeeters

As we put up his ladder stand
I figure we each got bit 50+ times
And that was with Skeeter spray and me wearing a mesh skeeter proof jacket

I know come fall or at least after the area drys up
Most of the skeeters will be gone

As we got close to the edge of the woods
I looked at my pants
9 ticks just on my pants

Not sure how many he had
But we killed them all

Glad we had tucked our pants into our socks before we headed out

How are you guys dealing with the Skeeters and ticks ??
Anyone else having a bumper crop of them both this year ?

Yep, they're bad this year. I'm into tick habitat quite a bit... daily actually. I've probably pulled 40 or so ticks off of me in the past 4 months, and 3 have been attached. Just pulled one off Friday night that was attached over my shoulder blade. Man I hate them fuggers. Thankfully, they're mostly dog ticks up here. I'd be much more worried if the black legged ticks were common around these parts.

I haven't had a single tick on me this year. The mosquitoes are ruthless. The worst I've seen in a long time.

We hung cameras the other day... Before stepping foot into the woods I had a tick on me from the tall grass. Mosquitoes were everywhere! Can't decide which ones I hate more!

We hung a couple cameras yesterday and the skeeters were relentless. My fatass sweated all the spray off so they were after me. We even had a thermacell and it didn't help. Good news is no ticks this time out. Worst I've seen the skeeters since the flood of 2007 around here

Down here in the SW in my hunting area I've only picked a few ticks off me but its a wonder I have any blood left from all the skeeters I've been bitten by!
