Tree question

OK as I feel up to it
I am cutting brush along the dike , at the marsh

I have a tree I have never seen and so far not found in my tree book
Hoped to take a picture , but flat forgot the camera today

Compound leaves
6-8" long with about 1 -1 1/4" leaflets

Semi smooth bark
But thorns
ON the 6-8" trees the thorns are 1/2-3/4" long
Hooked like a rose thorn
Smaller trees the thorns are shorter and straight

The trees are growing along a creek side dike
So not in a real wet area , but they get flooded a number of times every spring

The leave sort of remund me of a Black Locust
But the thorns and bark are wrong

Any ideas ?

As most of these trees are not in the way for duck hunting
I have no plans on cutting them

I don't know what they are but I know where a ton of them are. A neighboring property where I hunt is full of them.

The thorns are hell on tires. Been there. Plus the thorns wounds seems to burn like hell when you get stuck.

I have a whole 10 acres of bottom a guy wants cleared out to fill. Nothing but tall locust trees. My husky 350 has no problem with them but they dull chains fast. I cut 3 loads a couple weeks ago and by the end my chain was just throwing dust. You know wood is hard when you can see sparks come out the kerf. Lol. Looks like I need a couple more chains to take along. And an electric sharpener. Piss on that rat file if its going to dull chains that fast.
