Snaring basics?

I was hoping maybe one of you trapping guru's could put together a Snaring Basics thread when time permits. Snaring is something that I REALLY want to try this winter once deer season ends, but I just don't really know where to start. The property I bowhunt close to home has a lot 'yotes... and a local furbuyer already told me he'd buy them whole, so skinning and fleshing is not an issue for me. I just want to catch 'em, kill 'em, and drop 'em off.

Anyone got any advice... tips... tricks?

That's perfect, Dale. I completely forgot about that thread! Do you have a particular place (local or online) that you recommend for buying supplies?

I've not ordered a lot of gear for snaring, but I did order from the snareshop, and was happy with delivery time, price and apparent quality of the snares.

Haha I didn't say I know him just ordered stuff from there. I could care less if the guy is an asshole, I ordered online it was shipped right away and had no problems
